For most people, exercising is a necessary evil. They lack the motivation and commitment to maintain a healthy fitness routine. That's where you come in. As a personal trainer, you can play a part in the improved health of many people. PCI can provide the training you need to become a certified personal trainer through our Flex Education program.
To become part of the growing personal training field, fitness education is necessary. If you are like most PCI students, then you are looking for flexible education to accomplish your career goals. We can provide that for you in our blended Personal Trainer program which combines online and on-campus learning for the ultimate Flex Education experience.
In our Blended Personal Trainer program, you can learn to:
- Perform a variety of exercise-related tasks
- Design safe and effective exercise programs
- Implement safe weight loss/gain programs
- Be proficient in a variety of business-related skills
The PCI Flex Education Personal Trainer program includes a week-long, intensive boot camp in Las Vegas, Nevada. You’ll have the chance to receive instruction from top personal trainers and fitness celebrities like Jay Cutler, 3-time and current Mr. Olympia; top fitness model Beth Horn; Jenn Hendershott, the No. 1 fitness competitor in the world; and Tommy Boyer-Kendrick, a well-known sports conditioning specialist. You will even have the opportunity to earn National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CST) certification.
Objectives
Our objective is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for an entry-level position as a personal trainer. After receiving your personal training certification, Kansas City and Lawrence can present several career opportunities for you. Personal trainers in our area and throughout the United States can work in:
- Fitness centers
- Corporate gyms
- You own personal training business
Flex Education Personal Training Experience
Our Flex Education program includes online personal training courses and on-campus courses. You can access the online portion of the program with a unique identifier number which signs you into the class. You are expected to participate in classroom forums and discussions, you can view and listen to lectures online, and you can chat live with students and instructors.
NSCA-CPT certification
NSCA-CPT personal trainer certification is awarded to qualified personal trainers by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In order to earn the certification, a personal trainer must design safe and effective exercise programs. They must also provide guidance to help clients reach their personal fitness goals.
We also prepare students for American Council on Exercise (ACE) certification.
