Curriculum Overview

Professional Fitness Institute a Division of Pinnacle Career Institute provides Partner Schools with turnkey curriculum and resources for both Certificate/Diploma (65 credit hour) and Associate degree (111 credit hour) programs. Assistance is provided for adapting curriculum materials to reflect the partner school’s individual academic calendar. Graduates will be able to perform a variety of exercise related assessments and tests, design safe and effective exercise programs, implement safe weight loss/gain programs and be proficient in a variety of business related skills. Both programs are mapped to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skill set in order to sit for National Personal Trainer Certification exams. The Certificate/Diploma program is mapped to ACE-CPT standards and the Associate degree program is mapped to the NSCA-CPT standards.

The PFI Boot Camp Externship/Practicum course is included in the PT curriculum for both programs. Students develop the knowledge and skills required to lead and work as independent professionals. The Personal Fitness Training Boot Camp (60 hours) is a rigorous physical and intellectual experience in the areas of exercise testing and prescription, fundamentals of resistance training, weightlifting combinations, functional training, training progressions, program design, nutrition, business management and exercise psychology. The Boot Camp experience ultimately provides students with a variety of resources, knowledge and hands-on experience that will be invaluable to not only the student, but also prospective employers.
