The HVAC Technician certificate program at Pinnacle Career Institute aims to help our students prepare for a variety of careers in HVAC and related fields. Our curriculum is designed to give our students a balance of hands-on learning and technical coursework. Below you will find answers to some commonly asked questions about this program.

Q: How new is the HVAC equipment at PCI?
A: 65% of our equipment is less than two years old, the remaining is from two years to 30 years old.
Q: How often is the equipment serviced?
A: Equipment is maintained and serviced daily by students.
Q: What are the different types of equipment students get to work with while in the HVAC Technician program?
A: Various reach-in coolers, walk-in cooler/freezer, standard and high efficiency furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps, rooftop units, refrigeration trainers, electrical trainers, and sheet metal fabrication.
Q: How much hands-on experience versus classroom time will students receive in the HVAC Technician program?
A: The majority of the classes are 50% class and 50% hands on.
Q: What type of hands-on experience will students get in the HVAC Technician program?
A: Servicing, troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, gas piping, vent piping and sizing.
Q: How many students work on the equipment at one time?
A: One to three students, depending on class size.
